Cal Ton Cruset, an adapted rural tourism house for disabled in Sant Martí Sarroca (Alt Penedès)
Cal Ton Cruset,
Rural tourism house in the heart of the Penedès
Welcome to Cal Ton Cruset, an old farmhouse of 1881, renovated as a rural and fully equipped house, located in the village of Sant Martí Sarroca. The house has three floors, the ground floor with the hall, the first floor with the main rooms: the kitchen, the dining room, 2 toilets and 3 bedrooms.
On the second floor there is the attic, consisting of a living room with games and television to enjoy with our family and friends. In this floor there are also 3 more rooms and a small sink. Outside you can enjoy the garden with a pool, barbecue and up to 20 parking spaces. It also has a table for 20 people to invite other family and friends to come over.
From only 67.4 km from Barcelona you will enjoy a rural setting, but in the village, in the Alt Penedès region. An area where you will discover the magic corners of the Foix Valley, whether walking, biking or horseback. You can also observe the harmony of the whole castle, the Romanesque church and the museum, as well as all its wine-making tradition by enotourism routes and visiting the most prestigious cellars and other smaller but select cavas. Or just enjoy the house and its surroundings by refreshing yourself in the private pool, savoring the best meat and vegetables from the land on the outside barbecue or relaxing in the garden and leisure rooms.

How to get there
What to do in Sant Martí Sarroca
Sant Martí Sarroca is a village located in the valley of Foix river, on the centre-eastern part of Alt Penedès comarca, to the north-east of Vilafranca. The Foix river draws the border on the south-west with the villages of Pacs del Penedès and Santa Margarida i els Monjos. Sant Martí is bordered on the north-west by the town of Torrelles de Foix, on the north-east by Font-rubí and Vilobí del Penedès, on the south by Castellví de la Marca, and on the south-west by El Montmell, a village in Baix Penedès.
History of cal ton cruset
The current BP-2121 road that connects Vilafranca with La Llacuna was built in the 19th century by the Barcelona Provincial Council, opening a new route that replaced the old cart track between Vilafranca and Sant Martí.
This event allowed the enlargement of the village along this road, a process that began in 1881 with the first house to be built by Antoni Ivern Escofet. That was Cal Ton Cruset, where he engaged in agriculture, basically market garden, cereal and wine.
His son Antoni Ivern Almirall continued with the exploitation and broadened his activity with the wine trade, transporting it with barrels and carts. Joan Ivern Olivella took over the wine transportation and implemented the mechanisation of the agricultural activities.
Following the first remodelling of the stall, the farmyard and the cellar in 1962, the house began its hotel and restaurant services.
In 2012 the country house is remodelled and becomes an ideal place to relax and have fun in a family atmosphere in the garden, the swimming pool, the barbecue, the games room and the outskirts of the village of Sant Martí Sarroca.
